Borsini-Belardi court

These are all the files pertinent to the appeals court of Guede's murder trial. After judge Micheli sentenced Guede in October 2008 to 30 years in prison for participating in the murder of Meredith Kercher, Guede's defense team appealed the sentence. The appeal was handled by this court, presided by judges Giovanni Borsini and Maria Rita Belardi. Because Guede chose the fast-track option, the defense team stipulated to the evidence against Guede and instead focused on trying to present a different interpretation of Guede's participation in the crime.

The appeals trial is notable for its brevity. There are only three days of hearings and few related documents. Nevertheless, the motivation report is well worth reading because the judges rejected the defense teams interpretation, noting that the murder involved all three defendants.
